The first glimpse of spring is my favorite.
“Other than God and people, the Bible mentions trees more than any other living thing.”
“Trees are not randomly placed in scripture. They mark the most important events, including the Creation, the Fall, the Crucifixion, and the Resurrection. This is not a coincidence. The Bible is one interwoven book, written by one God.” – Reforesting Faith by Dr. Matthew Sleeth.
Ever since I read that book I just mentioned I can’t help but notice the trees more. This winter has been long, cold and rainy. No matter what the weather the trees mostly stood firm, planted, making their roots go deeper all the while knowing that they would bloom at just the right time.
I kept thinking the same goes for us. It may be a dark season, full of storms, and things seem somewhat out of focus. In a moment however, a tiny bud will appear, a small bloom will start to form and beautiful things will start to grow.
You are not randomly planted in this season of life, you are right where you are supposed to be and soon enough you will start to bloom.
“But blessed is the man who trusts me, God , the woman who sticks with God . They’re like trees replanted in Eden, putting down roots near the rivers— Never a worry through the hottest of summers, never dropping a leaf, Serene and calm through droughts, bearing fresh fruit every season.
