It’s one of my favorite events to attend and it’s been 10 years since I last went to the She Speaks Conference. The graphics and style may have changed just a tad, but the quality, mission and excellence of this conference is still top notch.
Proverbs 31 Ministries holds this annual conference for speakers, writers and ministry leaders wanting to become more equipped in fulfilling their calling.
It’s truly one of the best investments you can make if you have a story to tell and a message to get out to the world.
My brain and emotions have been overloaded with information and my friend- collection has grown exponentially.
I had 2 publisher appointments. One with Tyndale House Publishers and the other with Chosen Books. It was kind of like what I imagine a speed dating service would be like as I had 15 minutes to tell my story and see if we were a good fit for one another. I handed them my card, one sheet and book proposal information and we talked as much as we could in those 15 minutes.
This is my “one sheet” as it’s called. I created it using Canva.com and then husband Clay who is a web designer made it look even better with the help of photoshop.
Both publishers showed an interest but the first publisher said she will take the information and meet with her team then get back with me in 4-6 weeks.
The second publisher loved our story but it wasn’t in the type of genre of books the company she works for publishes, so she will be sending our info on to a friend who does publish stories like ours. So I am calling that a win as connections were made that might not have happened if I had stayed home.
Several of those connections I will be featuring here on the blog in the next few weeks to come. These ladies I met have ministries and stories that will blow your mind. Many have resources I want to connect you with that will help you in a variety of areas of your life. From dealing with porn and drug addictions, to healing from infertility and infidelity, these women I met are changing the world around them. I can’t wait to introduce you.
For now, below is the highlight real of the event.
If you have got a book in your heart you feel needs to get out in the world, then register for She Speaks 2019. Or send me a message and I’ll tell you more of what I learned this far in the publishing process.
If your a speaker or ministry leader, go ahead and invest in yourself with this conference. You are worth it and you won’t ever regret the money spent.
Thank you Lysa Terkeurst and the Proverbs 31 Ministries team for the invaluable skills and experience imparted to each us.
Thank you friends who have prayed for me this weekend and joined me in this publishing step of our journey to get Corrie’s Story out to the masses. I appreciate your prayers and support more than you know.
