Do It Afraid.
I once heard, “Whatever God is calling you to do you have been doing it on a smaller scale all along.”
For a long time now I have stood on the edge of the shore of my life and cheered many other people along to victory.
In highschool, I was a cheerleader and would do those silly chants cheering on a football team when I truly had no clue what was even going on in the game.
At graduation, I was the Vice President of our class and was picked to give the benediction speech to all the graduates and their families.
All through college I worked at a salon cheering people up through chats over getting their nails done.
I married a professional athlete and cheered him along in his career and in his changing of careers.
I then had these 4 children and I’m still cheering them on as they try new things and figure out this thing called life.
It’s not hard for me to cheer others on in pursuing their passions and callings, but when it comes to my own I want to be like my daughter Corrie with a floaty, on the shore and just stare at the possibilities of fun and adventure that seem to be “out there.”
I don’t mean this is a prideful way by any means, but I know I’m a decent cheerleader/rah-rah girl for others, but when it comes to pursuing my hearts desires and the desires I believe God has placed within me I get afraid.
I have always wanted to write books, speak at events and encourage primarily women, (sorry men…I’m still trying to figure you guys out) in pursuing their callings and passions and seeing God in a real way that changes their everyday life.
The older I get the more I am convinced we all have these dreams, visions, and desires we want for our lives but instead of going after them we stay standing on the shore in our floaty running through all the “what if” scenarios.
Well, I’ve decided if a change is ever going to happen, then I am going to have to move forward and just do it afraid.
The scripture in 2 Timothy 1:7 tells me,
“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control].”
2 TIMOTHY 1:7 AMP

So I’m doing these next steps, afraid friends. Posting these thoughts of mine as often as I can, then I’ll figure out how to get them published and out in the world to encourage and cheer some person up that I don’t even know yet.
My challenge for you today is, whatever your dream is, whatever that longing in your heart to do, see or believe is, then do it. Even if you have to do it afraid.
