Decide to try.

By June 15, 2017No Comments

I went looking for some inspiration last night and totally got sucked into the randomness the internet provides so generously.

From sad news to triumphant stories, I saw a little bit of it all. I noticed a trend however with each story I read good or bad. Each person had accomplished a lot, experienced highs and lows but it all started with a decision to try.

One lady said she didn’t want her life defined by quitting and giving up so she was willing to try her hand at her craft again…and she did…and she triumphed.

I don’t know about you, but I love that. I want my life to be defined by faith, not fear. By trying, whether it works out or not, just not giving up.

Things may not always work out or go as planned, but if we decide to try and step out in faith, God’s word says He is pleased and He rewards those who earnestly and diligently seek Him.
“But without faith it is impossible to [walk with God and] please Him, for whoever comes [near] to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He rewards those who [earnestly and diligently] seek Him.”

We all have areas of our lives where we want to try something new but then fear of failure, fear of others opinions, fear of not being good enough or maybe even lack of resources keep us from even trying. However, like this quote says, “Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try.”

So what is it that you want to try? If it’s not illegal or sinful, pray about it, then go for it.

Here’s a sample prayer to get you started…

“Dear Heavenly Father,
This is your servant boldly checking in before your throne of grace. I pray that you Lord would give us favor and Faith to step out and try and do the things that you have placed in our hearts to do for your kingdom and your glory. Remove the doubts and the fears we have. Replace them with your truth from your Word in Scripture and with an extra measure of Faith. Help us all to go boldly in the direction of our dreams that you have placed within our hearts. In Jesus name. Amen.
