5 Ways to Have a Miracle Morning as a Mom

By July 17, 2017No Comments

How you start your day determines the quality of how you will spend your day, your week and your life. Here are 5 simple tips to help your mornings become “Miracle Mornings.”

1.) Spend the first 10 minutes of your day in Silence and Prayer.
Right next to my coffee maker I have the devotional Jesus Calling by Sarah Young. While my coffee is brewing I read the days devotional and then go look up the scriptures it recommends. I use these scriptures to pray with and meditate on throughout my day. If I have time I read more scripture and a great book.

2.) Make a list at night of what you want to accomplish tomorrow and all you accomplished today.
I once read instead of making a list of all you want to accomplish make a list of all you DID accomplish. Either method works truly. The bottom line is to take some time and make the list. It doesn’t have to be extensive, just a few bullet points if that is all you have time for. I even do this in the notes section of my phone if I don’t have pen and paper handy.

3.) Set the coffee pot to automatically brew in the morning or fill up the tea kettle with hot water before bed.
This simple tip has been a game changer for me. Just the smell of brewing coffee helps drag my body out of bed. Also not having to run the water in the morning so you don’t wake anyone up is a great trick I learned a while back. If you have kids or pets you know they hear everything!

4.) Decide what you are going to wear and what workout you are going to do in the morning.
Most of you already know this, but it’s so true that if you will decide the night before what you are going to wear and what exercise routine you are going to follow, your morning is automatically going to start off better. Go find your shoes, socks, sports bra and outfit and lay it out next to your bed. Get dressed right away and you will be more likely to get that workout in.

5.) Read your daily affirmations as you pour your cup of hot goodness.
This step will seem fake and silly if you are not used to doing this, but I promise you over time those affirmations you speak over your life will begin to come true. The scripture talks about how out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. Sometimes you have to input a bunch of truth way down in your soul and you do that by speaking affirmative words over your life. I found a bunch on Pinterest and I particularly like to speak scripture affirmations over my life. Here’s a sample of affirmations from Steven Furtick’s book “Crash The Chatterbox.”

Having a “Miracle Morning” as a mom certainly, takes practice. Just like we encourage our kids to practice and get better at things,  I encourage you to practice these tips and see for yourself the blessings of having Miracle Mornings.

You can do it!
